How it works

  1. Step 1

    Add boat tickets to the cart

    Click "order now" and add the boat tickets to your cart. In general, the boat company publishes the current schedule and sells tickets at the end of the previous month. If you'd like to book before the office starts selling, we'll note your booking in our calendar and contact you as soon as purchasing is possible. Make sure the full name and passport number for each passenger are entered correctly — incomplete or incorrect information may prevent us from purchasing your ticket, or cause it to be rejected at check-in.

  2. Step 2

    Wait for the availability confirmation

    We check your requested dates with the office and inform you about ticket availability within 24 hours. If your dates are available, we'll send you an email with payment instructions. We use Wise or Revolut for payment. The bank transaction cost of 3% is not included in the price.

  3. Step 3

    Transfer the payment

    After receiving our confirmation, transfer the payment as soon as possible and send us proof of payment. Once received, we'll purchase your tickets. If you haven't received your tickets within 24 hours after payment, contact us immediately. Occasionally tickets sell out between your payment and our visit to the office — your booking is not guaranteed until we send the digital invoice as proof of purchase. If all tickets are sold out, we refund 100% of your payment.

  4. Step 4

    Receive the digital invoice

    We send you the invoice as proof that the tickets have been purchased. This digital invoice confirms your seat on the boat — but please note, it is not the boat ticket itself. On the day of departure we'll meet you at Kartini Jepara harbour to exchange the invoice for the boat ticket. Travelling from Karimunjawa to Jepara, you can exchange the invoice yourself at the office in Karimunjawa harbour.

  5. Step 5

    Your travel from Jepara to Karimunjawa

    Our hosts, Mas Harjono or Mbak Yayuk, will hand over your boat ticket one hour before departure. The meeting point is at TIC Jepara (Tourist Information Center) in Kartini Jepara harbour. Please arrive at least one hour before departure — we can't refund your money if you miss the boat. If there's a long queue we may arrive less than 60 minutes before departure. Don't worry, we will come!

  6. Step 6

    Your travel from Karimunjawa to Jepara

    One hour before departure, exchange your invoice yourself at the Bahari Express office — on the left side just before you enter the harbour. Please make sure you're at Karimunjawa harbour one hour before departure. We can't refund your money if you are too late and miss the boat.
